Man admits to damage

A ROW over a burglar alarm landed a Retford man in court.

Mark Waterhouse, 51, of Rectors Gate, admitted two counts of criminal damage and one of using threatening language or behaviour at Worksop Magistrates Court.

The court heard Waterhouse had been at a stables with his daughter on 8th March.

A resident in a neighbouring house sounded his alarm at 8.45pm to test it. Angry that the noise had spooked the horse, Waterhouse went round to the house.

He banged on the gates, before taking part of a post box from the front of the house and throwing it at the alarm, hitting a car.

Waterhouse was given a 12-month conditional discharge. He was ordered to pay £100 compensation and £85 costs.
