Man appears in court over Misterton ‘air pistol shooting’

A MISTERTON father-of-two has appeared in court charged with shooting a man in the face with an air gun.

Deon Caley, 48, from Grovewood Road, is accused of shooting 40-year-old local man Kirk Taylor with an air pistol at 1.15pm on Wednesday 11th April, in the grounds of Misterton Methodist Church on the High Street.

Caley appeared before Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Friday 13th April to face charges of wounding with intent and having a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Mr Taylor is not thought to be seriously injured and has since returned home.

Caley was remanded in custody until his next appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday 27th April when he is expected to enter a plea.
