Man arrested after car smashes into a home in Skegness

A 26-year-old man has been arrested for driving offences after a car smashed into a home in Skegness.

Police launched a manhunt after the driver of an Insignia car fled the scene at the former Cottage restaurant on the A52 Croft Bank, near to the Lomax garage.

The incident happened at 11.39pm on Monday, April 12, and the Force Control Room was alerted. The road was closed until around 7.30am on Tuesday.

Police say the collision caused significant damage to the property but luckily, no one was injured.

Investigations continued and police arrested the 26-year-old man on suspicion of failing to stop at a road traffic collision, driving without a licence and without insurance and aggravated vehicle taking.

He has been released on bail.
