Man arrested on suspicion of drink driving after two-car crash in Swineshead

Police are carrying out medical tests after a motorist was arrested on suspicion of drink driving at a two-car crash in Swineshead at the weekend.

Four people were injured, including two who were taken to hospital, after the collision on Drayton Road at about 9.20pm on Friday.

Two of the injured were treated at the scene by paramedics, while the other two patients were taken to Pilgrim Hospital, Boston.

Firefighters from Donington cleared up oil and diesel spilt on the road, while police arrested a 42-year-old man from Boston on suspision of drink-driving.

A spokesman for East Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We received a call from Lincolnshire Police to attend the A52 near Swineshead after a road traffic accident.

“Three double crewed ambulances were dispatched, as well as a solo responder from LIVES.”

The man arrested has since been released from custody, “pending forensic test results”, according to a Lincolnshire Police spokesman.
