Man charged with manslaughter over fatal prison assault

A 24-year-old man has been charged with in connection with the death of a man who was assaulted at Ranby Prison on Monday, 15th June.

Thomas Axton (37) of Bracknell, Berkshire, died from his injuries in hospital in Sheffield the following day.

Quinn Colley, of HMP Prison Ranby, was charged with manslaughter on Thursday night.

He was due to appear before Nottingham magistrates today, Friday 19th June.

Three other men aged between 22 and 39 are currently on bail pending further enquiries.
