At his plea and case management hearing on Friday 19th August, the 37-year-old pleaded not guilty to both firearms charges and to possession with intent to supply.

Golightly’s defence told the court that Golightly strenuously denied ownership of the weapons and his intension to sell on the drugs found in the police search.

“The drugs were in his possession but he had no intent to supply them.”

He added: “The air rifle and pistol were not his weapons and he was not in possession of them.”

Golightly was remanded in custody.

Hon Judge Sampson told Golightly that his trial would take place sometime during the week of 24th October 2011.
