Man guilty of assault

A WORKSOP man has admitted an assault and been ordered to pay compensation and complete 150 hours of unpaid work.

Michael Robert Bootman, 30, from Fleetway, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman on 4th May after letting himself into her property, pinning her against a wall and grabbing her by the throat.

A child was present and said to be ‘screaming and upset’.

Bootman said he had just had four cans of lager and was ‘quite drunk, but still aware of what he was doing’.

The unemployed father of a young child was given a 12 month community order with 12 months of supervision as well as being ordered to pay £100 compensation to the victim and being made to complete 150 hours of unpaid work.
