Man jailed for attacks

A WORKSOP man who punched his mother, headbutted a teenage girl and assaulted a 12-year-old boy, has been jailed.

Geoffrey Loverseed, 33, of Gateford Road, carried out the three separate ‘nasty’ offences after drinking, said a judge at Nottingham Crown Court.

Loverseed was in breach of a nine months suspended prison sentence he had been given in 2010 for growing cannabis.

The judge sentenced him to 15 months, with 90 days already spent in custody to count.

Loverseed denied all three offences of common assault but was found guilty.
