Man kicked car lights

A DRIVER who damaged another vehicle in Clumber Park must pay compensation to its owner.

Richard Ashton, 40, was driving over the bridge on Lime Tree Avenue on 18th June, when a car came the other way.

Defence solicitor David Verity said Ashton had the right of way, but the other car kept moving and, despite his client’s best efforts, there was contact between the vehicles.

An altercation followed during which Ashton kicked the light cluster in ‘sheer frustration’, he added.

Ashton, of Morven Street, Creswell, admitted criminal damage. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £50 compensation and £85 costs.
