Man remanded over Bawtry attack

Police are trying to trace the driver of a car that was seen in the Total Garage forecourt on High Street in Bawtry, between two minutes past midnight and 12.10am on New Year’s Day.

Officers believe whoever was in the car at that location would have had sight of the attack on 35-year-old Iain Eldridge, and may be able to help with the investigation.

A 21-year-old Bawtry man has appeared before Doncaster magistrates charged in connection with the attack, which has left the victim critically ill in hospital.
