Man seriously injured in Waddingham crash

A MAN has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash near Gainsborough involving several vehicles.

Emergency services were called to the the A15 between the turning for Blyborough and Waddingham at around 7.15am on Tuesday 13th December, where a HGV lorry and a bus were involved in a crash.

The lorry driver sustained serious injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Lincoln County Hospital.

The HGV had overturned and the bus was badly damaged in the collision, but luckily there were no passengers on the bus, and no other people were injured.

The A15 has been closed northbound at Caenby Corner and southbound at the B1205, Kirton junction as recovery of the vehicles is ongoing during the morning.

The crash caused a diesel spillage which requires clearing before the road can be re-opened.

Police say the clear-up operation will take until at least early afternoon.
