Man stole jackets

Stealing leather jackets from a shop has landed a Worksop man in court.

Lee Hamshaw, 30, of Osberton View, admitted taking the jackets from Matalan on 1st October.

Prosecutor Kate Beardmore told Worksop Magistrates Court on Monday how Hamshaw was seen entering the shop with an empty bag and leaving with it full.

She said Hamshaw told police in an interview that he intended to sell the jackets, but left them behind after he was followed out of the store by the manager.

District judge Diane Baker gave Hamshaw, who has previous convictions for theft, a 12 month community order including a 12 month drug rehabilitation programme. He must also pay £85 costs and £60 victim surcharge.
