Bassetlaw Council and A1 Housing will be hosting the event at the Centre for Sports and Learning, Shrewsbury Road, on Wednesday 1st July between 6.30-8pm.

It is proposed that the land, which sits between Lincoln Street and Furnival Street and has laid dormant for a number of years, be made available to developers for a housing led scheme.

The council will be asking residents what types, style and size of housing they would like to see on the site, along with additional services and facilities that may be needed in the surrounding area.

Alan Chambers, cabinet member for housing, said: “It is important that we hear the views of residents whose properties directly back onto the site, along with those of the wider community.”

“The planning for this site is in the very early stages and your views and comments will help us to determine the future for this site and we ask that as many people as possible attend.”

Officers from both the council and A1 Housing will be on hand to tell people about the options for this site, inform residents how this may affect them and answer any questions.

Should anyone not be able to attend the meeting, residents will be able to share their views as part of an online survey at www.bassetlaw.gov.uk/haveyoursay.
