March was coldest in Central England for 121 years, BBC Look North weather presenter reveals
Official Met Office figures have already confirmed that last month was the coldest March in the UK since 1962.
But after looking at the information for the Central England Temperature - which is the world’s longest temperature data set at some 350 years old - Paul Hudson has revealed that the region hasn’t endured as cold a March since Victorian times.

Hide AdTweeting to his followers this afternoon Paul, who works on BBC Look North, said: “Provisional CET temperature figures show March 2013 was coldest since 1892. Remember December 2010 was the coldest since 1890. Remarkable.
“For info CET (Central England Temperature) is the world’s longest temperature data set, started in 1659,” he added.
