Matt’s rickshaw challenge comes to Gainsborough

BBC One Show presenter Matt Baker will be gracing Gainsborough with his presence today as he pedals by rickshaw from York to Lincoln.

Matt, who has just passed the half way point on his 484 mile Children In Need challenge, will cover 78 miles today.

His route started in Edinburgh and will end at BBC Television Centre in London on Friday, just in time for his 7pm slot on the One Show.

Well wishers have been lining the streets to cheer him on and it is hoped Gainsborough folk will do the same.

Matt will be passing through East Stockwith, Walkerith and Morton before heading into Gainsborough.

He hopes - depending on his progress - to be travelling down Ropery Road, Bridge Street and onto Lea Road sometime between 4.30pm and 6pm.

He must reach today’s destination, Lincoln, for 7pm ready to link up with the One Show studio.
