Holland Fen and Jolly Farmers shared the rink points but the additional points, by the merest of margins, went to the Fenmen.

Alex Tomlin won 19-14 to see them home.

Royal Mail, with just four wins from 14 games, met a Strollers side with Alan Everitt in their line-up.

He produced a success of 19-13, which saw the Mail win overall by five shots.

Punchbowlers started the evening six points behind opponents A40 but finished level on points at the end of play.

A40 had the aggregate points in the bag with one end to play on both rinks, but Bowlers’s Dave Gill picked up a count of five to snatch the points out of Pauline Richardson’s hands (19-18).

Ian Drury, leading 17-8 at 13 ends, only scored another two shots as A40 scored nine shots and closed him down but, nevertheless, it was a win of 19-17.

There was a change of position at the top of the In the T&B Containers Division Two this week, albeit on shot difference.

Nomads moved into first place when they picked up four points from their game against Feathers.

Derek Smith skipped his rink to a success of 20-13, which covered the reply from Brian Hunn (10-13).

Boston Park, who were top, had a tough encounter against third-placed Cosmos, both sides claiming three points.

For the Park, Bernard Woods won 18-17, but this scoreline was replicated by Andrew Dunnington for Cossies.

Golfers and Breakaways shared the rink points, but the lower team Breakaways secured the additional points thanks to Derek Butwright, who won 20-12.

Golfers’s Graham Scarboro replied 13-16.

Poachers versus Autos went to the former when Mick Dodes won 33-12 for the extra points.

Patriarchs moved out of the bottom two with a win against botttom team Vikings.

Mick Rate and Alan Woods skipped their rinks to successes of 21-19 and 24-17 respectively.

In the Cammacks Division Three it is still very close at the top.

Leaders Fairways were on a bye week and the results saw them move down to fourth.

Slotting into the top spot were Central, who picked up maximum points from their game with Phoenix, a score of 17-12 added to by Brian Hunn, Lee Mulholland and Graham Mulholland (31-9).

The Burtons moved to second with a maximum points haul against the Hotspurs.

Chris Hill won 28-15 and Dave Bailey, in a close game, finished the last two ends strongly to win 24-10.

Amateurs, like the top two, also picked up six points.

Dave Coulson, Eileen Favell and Mick Greet were never behind, winning 18-10, and Ron Spence, Brian Martin and Tony Nixon never looked back after the first three ends and were successful 18-12.

The Saxons started the evening in fourth spot but only picked up two points from their game against Shipmates, and this was thanks to John Hodgson, who won 20-14 .

This fell well short of the reply from Ted Vere for Shipmates. He triumphed 7-31 for the greater share of the points.

Phantoms gave Bias a fright, eventually losing the aggregate points by one shot.

The Boswell-Brennan-Kenworthy trio went into the lead on the ninth end, which they did not relinquished and won 15-9.

Bias’s Dave May won by seven shots, which secured the extra points at stake.
