Meat thief up in court

A FORMER Worksop drug addict has appeared in court charged with stealing meat and a sandwich from local shops.

Natasha Alice Grant, 32, of Plantation Hill in Worksop, admitted stealing £50 worth of meat from Tesco Express on 4th June and a chicken sandwich from the Tesco on Gateford Road on 15th May when she appeared before Magistrates on 29th August.

Mr Verrity, defending, said: “During these offences, she was going through difficult times and had relapsed into heroin use and was sleeping rough.”

“Now she has secured accommodation, is back on methadone. Things have now stabilised and hopefully this will remain.”

The case was adjourned until 5th September for probation services to compile a report.
