Memorable sights in the skies at Lincolnshire’s Lancaster Association Day

Yesterday (Sunday, October 4) saw some memorable sights in the skies at RAF Coningsby for Lincolnshire’s Lancaster Association Day.

Each year the Battle of Britain Memorial flight reserves their last performance of the year to be a private display at the local base for members of the Lincolnshire’s Lancaster Association and their guests as a thank you for their support throughout the year.

Following it’s engine fire, the Lancaster is not yet ready for flight so LLA members had to be content to see “Thumper” with all its engines running on the ground.

The finale to the show was a flypast with the Vulcan, on its last display in the Lincolnshire skies, leading a formation of seven Spitfires and two Hurricanes.
