Mental health teams in Grantham, Stamford and Sleaford recognised for their work

The Grantham and Stamford Crisis and Home Treatment teams at Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust have been reaccredited in the Royal College of Psychiatrist’s Home Treatment Accreditation (HTAS) scheme.

The teams which cover the Grantham, Sleaford and Stamford areas were successful in meeting the scheme’s core standards during a recent assessment and were recognised for their seamless working with other local services.

The HTAS assessors said that LPFT staff were passionate and loved what they do; and patients and carers were complimentary of the care they received.

The Home Treatment Accreditation Scheme (HTAS) is an accreditation programme for crisis resolution and home treatment (CRHT) in the UK.

It involves self-assessment and peer review against a set of best practice, evidence-based standards and looks at local service provision, staffing, supervision and training, interventions, assessment, care planning, transfer and discharge processes.

The teams will be reaccredited for a further three years and will receive a certificate for their efforts.

LPFT’s Quality Improvement Lead for the Adult Inpatient Division, Anita Lewin, said: “I’m really delighted that the teams have maintained and improved the standards of care they provide to once again receive this accreditation.

“It is recognition of their hard work and enthusiasm for providing high quality care to patients and carers every day.

“We hope to share this best practice and receive the accreditation for all our crisis services as part of our quality priorities for 2016/17.”

LPFT’s crisis resolution and home treatment teams are based in the community and are on hand to help anyone experiencing an episode of mental health crisis.

Following assessment and to try and avoid unnecessary hospital admission, the team provides a programme of intensive home support, planned care and treatment.
