The man, identified by the Health and Safety Executive as Jackson Maplethorpe, from Billinghay, is said by a police spokesman to have died at the scene on Monday at Maple Farms, the family farm where he worked.

Although investigations are continuing, he said: “It appears the man was driving a tractor and trailer when it got it stuck on an overhead electricity cable. Then when he got out to try and resolve the matter it appears he has been fatally electrocuted.

It is understood Mr Maplethorpe attended St George’s Academy and was studying agriculture at Riseholme College.
