The event was held at Wollaton Park and was the dementia charity’s biggest East Midlands fundraiser.

Dawn Harrison from Misterton was among those supporting the event.

Dawn said: “For me, this walk is about memories of my Dad who had dementia and all the people that I’ve met personally and professionally over the years from this illness.”

“It’s encouraging and it’s heart warming to see such a varied age range of people taking part.”

“I don’t think there’s enough understanding out there of what dementia actually is, and the support that is available for people.”

“I still think there’s a big stigma with the word dementia.”

Memory Walks take place throughout the autumn with the Nottingham event being sponsored by Home Instead.
