Misterton man denies air pistol shooting

A MISTERTON man accused of shooting a fellow villager in the face has denied the allegation in court.

Deon Caley, 48, of Grovewood Road, entered not guilty pleas at Nottingham Crown Court today, Friday 27th April 2012.

He faces charges of wounding 40-year-old Kirk Taylor with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and possessing an air pistol with intent to commit GBH.

The alleged offence happened on Wednesday 11th April in the grounds of Misterton Methodist Church in the High Street.

Caley was remanded in custody until his trial which will take place in the week starting Monday 6th August.

Defence lawyer Mr John Hills said he intended to apply for bail next week.
