Trinity came back stronger in the second half but could not find their way through Wrawby’s defence.

Trinity’s keeper was excellent throughout.

Sam Trowsdale made up for an earlier miss by scoring to make it 4-1 at half-time.

KERRY GAINSBOROUGH YOUTH LEAGUE

Gainsborough Trinity U10s 4 Marshalls U10s 1

THIS was the third Gainsborough derby this season between these two sides and the honours once again went to Trinity, claiming an unprecedented 11 straight wins.

Marshalls caught Trinity on the counter attack a few times, and had it not been for some great defending by Jimmy Purdy and Zach Puvis, would have been in front early on.

Trinity managed to steady themselves and started passing the ball around well and a speculative shot on goal by Trinity captain Luke Crossley was turned into the back of the net by Elliot Vasallo.

The game was played at a fast pace and Marshalls managed to counter a few times down the wings and it was only a matter of time before they were back on level terms, a quick break catching Trinity out down the right wing and the Marshalls player finishing off a well-worked break to make it 1-1.

Trinity started the second half more determined and with a slight wind advantage pressed Marshalls from the kick-off, Daniel Rawlings in midfield winning a lot of 50-50 balls for Trinity, and it was his pass that found Crossley who dribbled around the Marshalls defence only to be brought down just outside of the penalty box.

Rawlings stepped up and took the free-kick giving the Marshalls keeper no chance.

Trinity were now eager for more and dominated the play although Marshalls did have a couple of chances to level it, Trinity keeper Corin Helgesson on hand with some good stops.

With all the pressure Trinity were applying it was only a matter of time before they increased their lead and once again it was Vasallo who fired low and hard to make it 3-1.

He was unlucky not to complete his hat-trick shortly after when Crossley provided a teasing cross into the box that Vasallo was a fraction away from getting his head on.

Trinity wrapped it up five minutes before the finish when Vasallo unselfishly layed the ball off to fellow striker Brandon Preston whose quick shot flew into the goal catching the Marshalls keeper unawares to make it 4-1 to Trinity.

This was another great performance by Gainsborough Trinity who appear to be unstoppable this season and have opened up a massive gap at the top of the league.

Misterton U9s 2

Gainsborough Trinity U9s 4

TRINITY started well and created good chances for Ryan Blanchard and Cameron Booth but Misterton’s keeper made excellent saves and the pairing was thwarted again as excellent defending from Ryley Johnson kept thee Blues at bay.

Misterton were unlucky not to go in front as Trinity keeper Benjaamin Barrass had to produce a good save, but the visitors eventually scored from Cameron Booth who shot into the bottom corner.

Misterton worked hard and kept the score at 1-0 up to half-time.

In the second half Trinity upped the work rate and it wasn’t long before Brandon Smith found strike partner Blanchard in space and he tapped in at the back post.

Trinity increased their lead after Brandon carried the ball, rounded two defenders to shoot and score.

Trinity’s fourth came after Player of the Game Libby Jarvis worked hard on the right flank to win the ball and put it across goal for Hayden Williamson to shoot and the ball, after hitting the post, was deemed to have crossed the line.

Trinity then made changes and a lapse in concentration saw Misterton score two well deserved goals, but the visitors took all three points.
