More than 2,000 sign up for garden waste collection

More than 2,000 people have signed up for Boston Borough Council's garden waste collection service.

This is the first year residents are being asked to pay for the service.

The quickest and easiest way to register and pay for garden waste brown bin collections is online at www.boston.gov.uk/gardenwaste and 1,708 people did that. Existing users of the garden waste service were joined by new customers and 42 additional brown bins were ordered at the same time.

Coun Michael Brookes, Boston Borough Council’s portfolio holder for waste services, said: “This is a very encouraging start, and I want to thank everyone who was so patient on such a busy first day.”

Payment is £30 for your first bin and £15 each for any additional bins.
