Politicians are angry about the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) which they say is inefficient, expensive and too bureaucratic.

Speaking on the Sunday Politics show yesterday, Mr Mann said MPs need to stop complaining and ‘join the real world’.

“The idea that MPs can’t afford to live with the paid expenses of today is a nonsense,” he said

“Any MP who says that isn’t in the real world and doesn’t know what the rest of the country is going through, doesn’t know what life is like in Britain - clueless.”

We are relatively well paid compared to our constituents, we have an expenses system that is a bit bureaucratic but is fair and reasonable and allows us to do the job. Any MP who says they aren’t is telling the truth. “
