Much more than a library

There has been plenty going on at Worksop Library over the last few weeks.

It has become a real part of the community, hosting everything from children’s activities and community group meetings to live music.

Recently The Big Window Theatre Company performed Dreamplay at the library.

Their audience were enthralled by the interactive play for very young children and their families.

The library also hosted a celebration for children who successfully completed this year’s Summer Reading Challenge by reading a minimum of six books.

There were also awards for the library’s top reading assistants.

Notts County Council vice-chair Carol Pepper gave a short speech before the children enjoyed a special celebration cake.

But it’s not just children who have been getting in on the fun. The Worksop Knit and Natter group, who meet regularly at the library, celebrated its first anniversary there.

And to get the place looking festive, staff from The Co-op donated an eight foot Christmas Tree to the Library.
