Ang Window posted the message yesterday evening (Tuesday) on the show’s facebook page after her son, Calvin, 12, suffered a serious asthma attack. He was stabilised by the St John Ambulance paramedic team, assisted by medics from the Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire air ambulance, before being flown to a specialist unit in Sheffield.

His mum says: “Words cannot describe how thankful we are as a family for the professionalism shown by the Heckington Show medics who took my son Calvin into their care on Saturday as a result of an asthma attack.”

She went on: “Their care and the decision to request the air ambulance undoubtedly saved his life. Calvin has today been released from intensive care and is now recovering at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.”

She said she had shown her son the pictures and videos shared on the Facebook page and he could not remember a thing.

She said: “We have attended Heckington Show for many years as traders. Jacki (Wright - in charge of the show stands arrangements) and the team do an amazing job.

“We are humbled by all the well wishes.”
