Murder probe launched after Dinnington man dies at Maltby pub

A MURDER investigation has been launched after a Dinnington man died during an incident at a Maltby pub.

The 45-year-old died in an incident at the Don John Hotel public house at around 10pm last night, Sunday 14th October.

South Yorkshire police said it is believed a number of people were involved in a fight in which the victim sustained a serious head injury.

He was taken to Rotherham Hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

A 35-year-old man from Maltby has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Officers investigating the incident are appealing for anyone who was in the Don John pub or nearby pubs on Sunday evening, or anyone with information that may assist to call South Yorkshire Police immediately on 101, or if you are deaf or hard of hearing on 18001 101 (text phone) or 07786 220 022 (SMS) quoting incident number 1242 of 14th October, 2012.
