The piece was created at All Wrapped Up by three customers of the business (pictured with the RBL’s Ron Worth).

It featured: crocheted poppies and a knitted sailor, soldier, and airman, made by themselves, plus other items donated to the scene including a painting of a Spitfire, created by the husband of another customer.

An auction was held for the dolls and the painting was put up for raffle, helping raise £220.40 for the RBL.

The Spilsby Branch of the Royal British Legion gave its thanks to the women, hailing their work as ‘a job well done’.

BURGH LE MARSH

Friendship group

The Phoenix Group offers support and friendship for those facing loneliness from various circumstances, and prayer is available if desired. The group also enjoy outings to different venues and guest speakers from time to time.

Meetings are held on Wednesdays from 10.30am to 12pm, at Burgh Baptist Community Church.

Dance exercise

The Dance Fit group on Wednesday afternoons offers music and fitness at Burgh Baptist Community Church.

Dance yourself fit to a variety of music from 2-3pm, and step lively for line dancing from 3-4pm. Beginners’ tuition is available.

The Knit and Natter group offers the chance to enhance your needlework or share your skills while meeting new people.

Parish nursing

Burgh Baptist Community Church hosts a coffee morning and parish nurse session every Friday from 10am to 12pm.

Visit parish nurse Adele Pratt for health advice, a blood pressure check and tips on weight management and wellbeing.

No appointment necessary.

The team is also available for support and prayer if desired. Scones and hot drinks are available, along with a warm welcome.

Burgh Baptist Community Church now also hosts a parish nurse session on Tuesday from 2-4pm at Burgh Library and Community Hub. No appointments necessary.

GIBRALTOR POINT

Walk

The Mark’s Tuesday Walks group meet on Tuesday, November 26, at the Gibraltar Point visitor centre car park.

Walks begin at 10am, last an hour, and are followed by tea and coffee.

MUMBY

Fair

Expect plenty of bargains when Mumby Church holds a Christmas craft/gift fair on Saturday, November 28, from 10am to 2pm.

It will feature a variety of stalls, including a tombola.

Refreshments will be available.

The Christmas Market and Lights Switch on will take place on the Saturday, November 30, from 1-7pm, with entertainment throughout the afternoon, including fairground rides, face painting, Skegness Silver Band, and local singing groups.
