New ambulance base opens

It was a day to remember for Market Rasen's ambulance crew, when their new four-bay station opened in 1992.

The official ceremony was conducted by Sir Michael Carlisle, chairman of the Trent Regional Health Authority, who unveiled a commemorative plaque to mark the occasion.

Also attending the event were Arthur Bell, chairman of Lincolnshire Ambulance and Health Transport Service NHS Trust, and its chief executive, Mike Ruffle, plus family and friends of the ambulance staff.

Leading ambulance man David Clark is pictured with the staff outside the station in Gallamore Lane.
