The auction will be run by Auctioneer Bob Clifford who has run the weekly auction at Spilsby for the last few years. The introduction of the auction at Horncastle will bring an extra appeal to the Market.

The auction will start at 10am and items can be registered with Bob from 5am on the day in Horncastle Market Place. All items can be accepted apart from livestock, alcohol or perishable items.

Bob explained: “An auction is an age old tradition which I am pleased is being embraced in East Lindsey. It is another part of the Market which attracts market customers but also new customers, so this is a positive thing for the town.”

Portfolio Holder for Market Towns and Rural Economy, Councillor Adam Grist, said: “The auction coming to Horncastle Market is great news and we very much look forward to welcoming Bob.”

Horncastle Market is every Thursday and Saturday with a Farmers’ Market on the second Thursday of each month and the Craft Market on the Second Saturday of each month running from April to December.
