New Chairman of Lincolnshire County Council

Councillor Martin Trollope-Bellew has been elected as the new Chairman for Lincolnshire County Council this week.

Coun Trollope-Bellew, who represents Stamford Rural, was elected on May 20,

After serving for 19 years on the county council, including ten years as chief whip, Coun Trollope-Bellew is very much looking forward to his year in office.

He said: “I am particularly interested in the growth of small businesses and during my time as Chairman will help promote the rural economy in all its forms, from farming to leisure and tourism.”

He added: “I am looking forward to serving the residents of Lincolnshire as chairman and to meeting as many people and organisations as possible during the next year.”

As Chairman, Coun Trollope-Bellew will be raising money and supporting his chosen charities, the Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Service and Prostate Cancer UK.
