New food store proves a hit with shoppers in Boston

Lincolnshire Co-op opened the purpose-built outlet in Woodville Road last Thursday.

A replacement to another Lincolnshire Co-op food store in Woodville Road, it is three times the size of its predecessor.

The opening was marked by the donation of £250 sums to Staniland Academy, in nearby Peck Avenue, and Home-Start Lincolnshire.

Manager Hannah Speed-Thorpe said: “We’ve been delighted with the reaction – people have said they think the new store is much lighter and easier to get around.

“They love the larger ranges too – like fresh bread and cakes, lots of lunch deals and a big selection of fresh fruit, vegetables and meat.

“There was a real buzz on opening day and it was great to be able to make donations to two really deserving local causes too.”

The opening of the store followed a build that began in the summer with the demolition of the Lord Nelson public house which had sat vacant on the plot for some time.
