Looking ahead to the 2017 follow-up, a spokesman for the club said: “As well as a showcase for our own model railway layouts and those of invited visitors, the extra space allows us to provide an opportunity to any local railway modellers who may like to exhibit their own layouts.”

Anyone interested in taking part in the show should contact exhibition manager Steve Wallace on [email protected] in the first instance.

The new venue is wheelchair friendly and refreshments will be available.

Admission costs will be held at £4 for adults, £3 for children, and free for under fives.

A family ticket for two adults and two children will also be available.
