Is a new petrol station on the cards in Mablethorpe?

Plans have gone into East Lindsey District Council for outline planning permission to build a shop/store and a filling station on site of existing public house, The Beck in Quebec Road, Mablethorpe which would be demolished.

The application has been submitted by David Muggeson.

If the plans were approved and owners of The Beck decided to go ahead with the plans, it would bring an increased job offer to the town in both full and part-time job prospects and the application states it would bring forward a potential list of known High Street names.

But the manageress of The Beck stressed to the Leader that these are only ‘initial enquiries and no future plans for the site has yet been made.’

What you like to see a new petrol station and shop come to Mablethorpe instead of having the pub there?

Or would losing the pub be a blow to the town?
