The changes will preserve conservation areas around the village centre and the station.

Andrew McDonough, head of development, economic and cultural services at North Kesteven District Council, said: “In order to protect the most important elements, character and appearance of Heckington’s conservation areas for the benefit of future generations, we are seeking to introduce a new directive, which will mean that planning permission will be needed for certain minor improvements to houses within the conservation areas.”
