The Rev Bryan Dixon has been appointed as the next incumbent of the Middle Rasen Group of Parishes.

The position has been vacant since the Rev Charles Patrick left to become Rector of Horncastle in February last year.

Born and brought up in Hull, the Rev Dixon has been a priest in the Church of England for the past 23 years, spending some time within the Diocese of Lincoln.

“We have long-harboured a desire to return to the Diocese of Lincoln, as we fell in love with the countryside and its people before, but the time had to be of God and it had to be to the parishes He led us to,” said the Rev Dixon.

“So we are now very much looking forward to coming back to where we began.”

The Rev Dixon served his curacy at Beverley Minister, before changing track and concluding with a second short curacy in an inner city parish in Hull.

His first incumbency was in the Mid-Marsh group of Parishes on the other side of the Wolds 18 years ago.

He has also served as a Prison Chaplain at HMP Durham, served for five years as a Special Police Constable, and is currently Priest in Charge of the Gateway Group of Parishes in the Diocese of West Yorkshire and the Dales.

The Rev Dixon will be instituted at a service in Middle Rasen Parish Church on Thursday July 14 at 7pm.
