New Year's Eve party raises hospice cash
Former owner of the Solo Club, Paul Sharpe, decided to organise a party, having always been ‘on duty’ in the past serving customers.
He explained: “We have never been able to celebrate our own New Year’s Eve and so invited about 100 family and friends for a private party in the Sleaford Masonic Rooms.”

This is now the second year the event has been held and this time raised £525 for the appeal after costs were deducted. Appetites did the catering and the Wrinkly Rockers performed, both at reduced rates, while the room hire was free, to help add more to the cause and Mr Sharpe wanted to thank everyone for their generosity to make it such a successful night.
The money, now finally collated, was presented last week to the local fundraising team.
Harriet Hickin, Community Fundraiser for St Barnabas said: “We rely very heavily on the support of the community. It will go a long way towards helping people across Lincolnshire.”
