NHS urge patients to stock up on prescriptions before Bank Holiday

Bassetlaw GPs are asking patients to make sure they have enough of their repeat prescriptions to last them over the Easter period when GP practices are closed.

As services will be busy as over the Bank Holiday, this will help reduce demand and allow out of hours and emergency services to focus on providing care rather than issuing prescriptions.

As well as arranging repeat prescriptions, people are also being urged to only visit A&E or call 999 in a medical emergency.

A&E will be open over the bank holiday period for emergencies. For medical advice or to access the GP out of hours service contact NHS 111 who will direct you to the right service, or you can visit a local pharmacist for advice on treating everyday ailments.

NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is free to call from landlines and mobile phones.
