People living in Alexandra Road had askedf0r double yellow lines to be introduced at the junction with Witham Road.

They had complained to the village parish council that vehicles parked on or near to the junction could lead to a major accident.

They said it was difficult for drivers either entering or leaving Alexandra Road to see onto the busy Witham Road.

The parish council duly contacted Highways’ officials at the county council. But speaking at a parish meeting, clerk Amanda Bushell read out a letter from the county council which stated that because of budgets cuts, only ‘urgent projects’ were being considered.
