The Mansfield Town youngster joined the Pilgrims on a month-long youth loan on Friday.

He made his debut off the bench in Saturday’s draw at Chorley and - despite admitting he was ‘still learning names at kick off’ - is looking to buid upon his first-team debut.

“You want to get as much men’s football as possible when you’re young, the physicality of the game is important,” Gibbens said.

“It’s all about winning at the end of the day.

“I’ve been struggling to get game time at Mansfield, but this is a decent level and hopefully I can get some more men’s football experience.

“I’m really looking forward to it.”

Gibbens will train with the Stags during the day and link up with Boston for training in midweek.

He is eligible to feature in the FA Trophy clash at Wrexham on December 15, but says he will treat every game the same.

“You’ve got to look forward to every game, prepare right,” he said.

“I’m a no-nonsense defender. I like to get rid of the ball, but play it when it’s on.

“My decision making’s quite good.”
