Nocton crash victim named

A man who died at the scene of a motorcycle crash near Nocton on Friday has been named as Wayne Lovegrove by police.

Lincolnshire Police have confirmed the identity of the 41-year-old from Lincoln, who was the rider of a white Yahama 125cc motorcycle which was in collision with a blue Mazda car.

The incident took place at the B1188 at about 6.50pm.

Emergency services were called to the B1188 near Nocton at about 6.50pm yesterday (Friday) evening where a white Yamaha 125cc motorcycle had been in collision with a blue Mazda car.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “The rider of the Yamaha, a 41-year-old man from the Lincoln area, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car was not reported injured.

“We are asking for anyone who was in the area of the B1188 at Nocton yesterday (Friday) around 6.50pm and saw either the white Yamaha or the blue Mazda before the collision or saw the collision itself to contact us on 101 or the collision hotline on 01522 558855.”

Police say further details of the victim will not be released until later next week.

This brings to eight the number of people who have been killed on Lincolnshire’s roads so far this calendar year.
