Nominate your Maltby heroes

MALTBY residents are being urged to nominate community stalwarts who deserved to be recognised for their dedication.

The area’s town council is asking members of the community to nominate who they think should become this year’s Maltby Person of the Year and Maltby Young Person of the Year.

It could be someone that has helped and gone that extra mile or perhaps someone who has achieved beyond expectation - or maybe there is someone who just deserves recognition but never receives any.

Nomination forms are available from the Edward Dunn Memorial Hall and nominations close on Monday 24th September.

The winners of the awards will be announced at the annual Maltby Civic Service at St Bartholomew’s Church on 14th October.

Last year’s Maltby Person of the Year was Lol Henson, the life president of Maltby Miners Welfare Football Club.

The former player ploughed his own savings into the club during the 1970s and continues to help out at the club.
