The Excellence in Digital Innovation award gives recognition to businesses that have identified and developed digital solutions to aid business growth or competitiveness.

Digital innovation ranges from the development of a new website to e-commerce, utilising digital technologies (such as 3D printing or other prototyping/production technologies) to the use of IT to deliver products or services.

The award is being sponsored by the University of Lincoln which has experience in the field through the Innovation Programme it deliveries for Greater Lincolnshire.

This is designed to enable SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) to progress their innovation ambitions through a programme of grant funding, events, professional development and business support.

The New Business of the Year award spotlights the development made by a business less than three-years-old at the time of nomination.

Judges will be looking for newly-established companies which have prospered since their launch and are moving forwards in a structured way in order to overcome challenges and ensure continued success.

It is sponsored by Wilkin Chapman LLP, a full service law firm of 400 staff operating from seven offices throughout Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire.

The firm’s aim is to exceed clients’ expectations. This has seen it recommended by independent legal publications and ranked as a top-tier firm and ‘regional heavyweight’ in the Legal 500 law firm guide.

The Excellence in Manufacturing award will go to a business that has utilised efficient or innovative manufacturing processes to develop excellence in manufacturing, producing products that enjoy significant market share and developing new products that create opportunities in new markets.

Nominees will be expected to show how their business has attained sustainability or growth through the use of excellent business or manufacturing practices.

The award is sponsored by Duncan & Toplis, one of the largest firms of independent chartered accountants and business advisers in the East Midlands.

The business, which has 11 offices in the region, specialises in advising small to medium-sized owner-managed businesses in a wide range of sectors and through all stages of the business cycle.
