North Lincolnshire venue temporarily closed for the election count

The parliamentary and local elections count will take place at The Pods, Scunthorpe across Thursday and Friday May 7-8 so it will be temporarily closed to the public.

The Pods (pictured) will be open as usual on Thursday May 7 until 8pm. After which all activities and facilities will be closed to the public.

On Friday May 8, The Pods will be closed to the public until noon. All activities will then be open as usual.

The Sports Hall will not be accessible to the public from Tuesday May 5 until Saturday May 8.

A North Lincolnshire Council spokeswoman, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure at The Pods during the 2015 elections. However it is important that for security reasons only authorised people are allowed in The Pods during the election count. All of our other leisure centres will be open as usual on these days. The elections are less than a week away so voters are being reminded to return their postal votes as soon as possible.

For those who have opted to vote in the traditional manner, the majority of poll cards have now been issued and the registration process for voting has closed.
