North Wheatley: Man airlifted to hospital after car hits a tree

A man has been airlifted to hospital after the car he was travelling in hit a tree.

Emergency services were called to Haughgate Hill in North Wheatley at around 1.15pm this afternoon (Tuesday).

Fire crews from Misterton, Retford and Tuxford all attended the scene and helped to free the man from the Renault Clio. A woman, who was a passenger in the car, was out before firefighters arrived.

The man was airlifted to hospital, while the woman was taken by ambulance.

Police said their injuries are not life threatening.
