Nostalgia: Old Malt Kiln in Louth could have been a community centre

The old Malt Kiln which used to stand in Louth could have been transformed into a community centre when the ambitious plan was announced in 2001.
Nostalgia.Nostalgia.
Nostalgia.

But now in 2016, the site is not a community centre but instead a flagship store for supermarket giant Aldi.

The proposed community centre plan could also have been built on the site opposite in Newbridge Hill where the old Linpac building used to be.

Again it was not to be as the site is now a big housing estate instead.

Do you remember when this plan came to light?
