Nostalgia - Wilsford pub hosts tramps' supper

Wilsford's Plough Inn became a rendezvous for some suspicious looking characters when over a hundred '˜gentlemen of the road' stopped by for a Tramps' Supper.

The event was held back in February 1967, with most guests dressed in torn pullovers, dirty shirts and coats tied round with string.

The customers were, of course, only in costume and enjoyed a meal of chicken and ale.

Some of the dodgy characters are pictured here - both male and female with coloured in beards. They seemed to take to the look very readily, but can you name who they were? Maybe you were among them.
