Notts: County’s healthcare staff given ‘outstanding’ rating after latest inspection
Staff at Notts Healthcare, the County’s mental health, intellectual disability and community health service provider, have been awarded an ‘outstanding’ rating for their caring attitude in a recent inspection.
The final report also noted that the service has ‘good services overall’ following an intense five-day inspection of the Trust’s services earlier this year.
One hundred and nine Inspectors from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) came to the Trust’s sites in and around Nottinghamshire to check whether the Trust provided services that were caring, responsive, safe, effective and well led.
Professor Mike Cooke CBE, is Chief Executive of the Trust, said: “This is an excellent outcome for such a complex and diverse Trust. We provide services to patients, service users and carers from South Yorkshire to Leicestershire, with some national services based at Rampton high secure Hospital. Every one of our members of staff deserves congratulations on the outstanding care they provide.
“We also acknowledge the improvements needed in some specific safety aspects of our services and work has begun to address the issues raised by the CQC. I am confident that this good rating reflects on the quality of everything we do.
“It is especially pleasing to see the comments from the Chief Inspector about the Trust being ‘effective and responsive and that it is generally safe.’
“The Trust is well led and that throughout all of the services visited they met and observed staff who were very caring and compassionate.
“The Inspectors were particularly impressed with the Recovery College and the Involvement Centre. Overall this is a good Trust and, while areas for improvement have been highlighted to the Trust, the Trust knows what action it now needs to take and it has already made a good start on this.”
Mike continued: “I am very proud to be Chief Executive of such a caring organisation.”
Jeff Worrall, the Portfolio Director for the NHS Trust Development Authority, added: “This is an excellent result for the Trust, achieved through the dedication and commitment of staff. We are really pleased that the Trust is delivering the high quality care that their patients deserve, and that their efforts to sustain this and drive forward improvements have been recognised.”
