Notts: Jobcentres set to go digital

Jobcentres across Nottinghamshire are due to go digital which will make it easier for people to find work.

Specially designed equipment which will bring all the Jobcentres services onto a computer will be in all centres by Spring 2015.

People will also be able to use the new computers to keep on top on their claims, calculate benefits and update their CVs.

Jean Sharpe, district operations leader for DWP in Nottinghamshire, said: “I’m delighted that we’re refreshing our Jobcentres to meet the needs of employers and people looking for work.” “This will help even more people get fixed up with a job over the coming months.”

Free wi-fi and electronic signing pads will also be installed in Jobcentres across the country, and specially trained staff will be on hand, to help jobseekers get the most out of the new digital changes.
